Wow! Who knew when I was binging The Walking Dead last year, we could be living something cray cray like we are today, right?
How are you doing and managing the social distancing and quarantine (if it applies to you). With this new perspective, what is really important in your life? Here are some tips on staying positive and getting through tough times.
Firstly, You got this! You have tools and skills and tons of experience and you can persevere. I thought I would reach out with some tools to help you during this very unique part of your journey in life.
1) Taking care of your mental health. Limit news intake to one specific part of the day for a limited time and then move on! Negativity will beget negativity and tank your mood faster than anything!
2) Actively practice positivity. Positive psychology tells us that we can rewire the brain with simple techniques to help us to feel happier, more positive and increase our self esteem.
3) Get sunlight! Seasonal Mood Disorder is real and we need sunshine and vitamin D. Get a sun light if you are in cloudier areas.
4) I used to think that I never had time because of work, to clean out those closets. Nope. Yeah, that wasn’t it, at least for me-LOL. If you aren’t feelin’ it, then don’t do it. Do something fun, take up a new hobby (on line painting, drawing, learn how to change that dryer switch yourself).
5) Connect with others. Remember that old fashioned thing called a telephone? Reach out and touch someone!!! I spent an hour on the phone with my 84 year old Aunt who is cooped up and we were cracking up about how we both hate to cook and have great stories of disasters from the past.
I would love to have you join me in the discussion and on the journey on my FB page FAB Ever After where we support, encourage and grow together on this journey called life!
